PRESENTATION OF THE LETTERS OF CREDENCE
OF AMBASSADOR MAALOUF

   Following the election of General Michel Sleiman as President of the Republic of Lebanon, Ambassador Massoud Maalouf received the letters signed by President Sleiman accrediting him as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Canada.

In an official ceremony held in Rideau Hall on 30 June 2008 at 10:00 a.m., Ambassador Maalouf presented his credentials to Her Excellency the Right Honourable Governor General of Canada Mrs. Michaëlle Jean.

The relations between Canada and Lebanon and the support that Canada provides Lebanon in many fields, as well as the important role of the Lebanese community in the Canadian society were the main topics of the conversation between Her Excellency the Right Honourable Governor General and the Ambassador.
